Jodi graduated with distinctions in Homeopathy and studied extensively at the Durban University of Technology in South Africa.
After completing her research (Hemachatus haemachatus snake venom) she qualified with a Master’s Degree in Homeopathy.
Homeopathic training in South Africa is uniquely based upon the medical curriculum with homoeopathy as the primary therapeutic focus.
"Homeopathic practitioners are trained diagnosticians, recognised as primary contact practitioners. It should be noted that, whereas the vast majority of international Homeopathic schools offer skills-oriented Homeopathic training, South Africa offers professional training at a level required for the practising of Homeopathy as a primary contact health profession in accordance with the scope of practice of such a profession."
Jodi has a deep passion for anatomy & pathophysiology and when she is not in clinic, she enjoys lecturing and getting people excited about learning. Jodi has lectured at the College of Practical Homeopathy (CPH), the well known Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) and was the Director of Homeopathy at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) where she developed the 3 year diploma course. She was also a long-standing and well respected Senior Lecturer in Biomedicine and Naturopathy at CNM.
Jodi uses her knowledge and skills gained from well over a decade of clinical experience, to bring about a patient-centered, naturopathic & homeopathic approach, that is adapted and specific to the individuals needs.
Why I became a Homeopath & Naturopath
"I became a homeopath due to the very personal interest in mental health, and from a young age observed the very many failings of allopathic (psychiatric) medicine in diagnosing, supporting and treating these 'disorders'.
It was from this that my deep interest and need to find an alternative/complementary modality for achieving and maintaining health, more specifically mental health, that began my journey in 2002. I started the first chapter of my journey in the study of Human Physiology and Homeopathic Medicine. During this time and after completion of my Masters, I then further continued my studies in Naturopathy, Homotoxicology and Mesotherapy.
I have a loyal passion for the Sciences and the Art of Homeopathy. Despite the common misunderstanding, Science and Homeopathy are intimately connected - we are only now beginning to develop the tools advanced enough to evaluate this connection. And so my journey continues..."
Jodi beyond the clinic
Jodi enjoys being involved in a variety of organisations she is passionate about. Jodi is a Panel Expert for Homeopathy for the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP), she is a member of the organisation for Integrative Medicine for Mental Health (IMMH), and MindHealth360 which is a great organisation that provides resources and support for individuals and their families with concerns around mental health.
The company was founded in 1936 in Berlin by Dr. Hans-Heinrich Reckeweg, a thinker who is equally creative and inquisitive. As a physician and homeopath, he not only developed new medicines based on natural ingredients. He also launched an innovative therapeutic approach that used the new medication to activate the body's self-regulatory mechanisms in the event of illness.
But Dr. Reckeweg was not satisfied with knowing that his drugs and therapies were working. He also wanted to know why they are doing this. Scientific research into natural medicine became a central task at Heel.
